Curriculum

Our curriculum includes mathematics, reading, science, language, spelling, writing, penmanship, music, art, phonics, social studies, physical education, computer literacy, and Bible instruction.  In addition to educating for useful skills, cultivating cultural interests and social graces, promoting physical health, and developing the special gifts and talents of the individual child, GLS endeavors to train children to think for themselves, discover on their own, and learn proper study habits.

GLS's faculty teaches all subjects in light of God's Word to help children see the subject in relation to God, His wonderful world, and the purpose of man on earth so the children may relate their religion to their life, applying Biblical truths to their daily living.  Physical education and recreational activities are included to develop a healthy abode for the mind in order to be strong in service to God and mankind.

Relation to Public Education

Grace Lutheran School operates cooperatively with education in public schools.  GLS provides positive Christian instruction and training, which the public schools are not expected to do and cannot provide.  GLS works to coordinate its curriculum with the public schools at each grade level to allow for easy transfer.
